Born in the Lower Ward of Waterdeep to a dockworker father and a hedge-witch mother, Mira grew up picking pockets along the Dock Ward wharfs. At fifteen, she sold information to a Zhentarim factor — just once, she told herself. Twenty years later, she operates a modest ink-and-quill shop in the Sea Ward that serves as a dead drop for network communications. She presents a warm, motherly demeanor and is genuinely kind to children and strays.

She wants to earn enough to ransom her brother Edran from a Luskan slaver before the next trade season. The Zhentarim promised to help — but their price keeps rising. She now privately doubts whether they ever intend to honor the deal.

Mira has been secretly copying every Zhentarim communication that passes through her shop, hiding the transcripts behind a false panel in her hearth. She doesn't know what to do with them yet — but she knows they're the only leverage she has left.

The party finds a cryptic note in Mira's handwriting tucked into a book they purchased at her shop: "The Raven's Tooth sails Ches 12th. Do not let them reach Skullport." She had no intention of them seeing it — and when confronted, her terror is unmistakably real.
